I seem to have acquired a yeast infection three days into taking my medicine for my bacterial vaginal infection. What should I do? Continue taking the antibiotic gel until it’s gone and then get yeast infection medicine? Is this normal? Help.
yes sometimes depends on the brand or your condition ain’t really what it suppose to be
i have what i thought was a yeast infection (but the monistat did not work), my sister who is slightly older than me gets them often… may i add i have not gotten my period yet and have never had sex… my sister said she thinks it might be from our detergent that our mom uses. is there any type of irritation or infection that has symptoms similar to a yeast infection?
I have had a problem with yeast infections for a long time. Well, I hadn’t had one for about 7 years or so and then I got on the Pill for the first time and I ended up getting yeast infections and bladder infections worse than I ever had.For about 2 months, I had a bladder infection one week, yeast infection the next, bladder infection, period/yeast infection…it was AWFUL and so painful. I take cranberry pills and I drink 100% cranberry juice when I think I’m getting a bladder infection and that seems to help.
Well, I only had a 3 month supply for the Pill, and I moved, so I didn’t get a refill. I immediately stopped having yeast infections and bladder infections so I realized it may have something to do with the Pill. Well, I’m back on it and bam, I’m getting a yeast infection.
What should I do about this? It’s so frustrating. And should I make my fiancee do whatever I’m doing to make sure that he isn’t reinfecting me? I’ve already gotten tested for STD’s and I’m clean.
HELP!
Best to see your doctor and maybe if you’re reacting so badly, you should try condoms instead. Also, I came across this resource: http://www.cure-yeast-infectionz.com May be useful
My daughter is on antibiotics for an ear infection. She is two. Today, she has been grabbing her diaper and saying “hurts”. It seems like every time she pees she screams in pain. What should I do?
Yes they can. You need to take her in and get her checked out.
another yeast infection. I also had a fever a few days ago, but that may be totally unrelated. What causes all these problems? Is it just a coincidence, or something more?
Antibiotics will kill bacteria other than the bacteria that are giving you UTIs–this includes beneficial bacteria that naturally inhabit your vagina (I am assuming you are female). Without the protection from these beneficial bacteria, harmful microorganisms such as those that can cause yeast infections able grow. So chances are that the two are interrelated.
There are many causes of UTIs–but the most common causes are fecal contamination (which is why you should always wipe away from your vagina) or contamination from sexual intercourse if you are sexually active. It is usually a good idea to urinate after having intercourse to help flush away any bacteria that might’ve gotten pushed into your urethra.
It is also important to COMPLETELY finish your antibiotics course, even if symptoms improve. This is because the infection is not entirely gone, and will possible reemerge (maybe even with antibiotic resistant organisms) at a later date.
i do not have money to by yogurt but i heard that if you put salt in your shower on your vigina for 5 minutes and then put vaseline that works?something that has to do with salt to cure yeast infection

I go to the doctors tomorrow I wonder if bacterial infections and yeast infections cause infertility….??? I get both of them every so often?
“I wonder if bacterial infections and yeast infections cause infertility.” — Bacterial vaginal infections are also called bacterial vaginosis (BV) and Gardnerella vaginalis. Two names for the same thing. BV can indirectly lead to infertility if the infection goes untreated or not completely cured and infection travels up into the uterus and on into the Fallopian tubes. Then you have PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) which can can result in permanent scarring of the Fallopian tubes. And conception takes place inside the Fallopian tube (either the left or the right tube depending on whichever ovary has released an ovum). If the tube is too badly scarred and occluded (blocked) or even completely sealed off by adhesions (scar tissue), the sperm and ovum will never meet and conceptions will not take place.
As for vaginal yeast infections, or vaginal Candidiasis, they do not cause serious medical problems and have never caused infertility.
I’ve recently been prescribed an antibiotic to treat fungal infections (yeast infection), and it’s to be used for 5 days. I usually lube up when I masturbate, so I’m not rough on my penis or anything, and before I started the prescription, I didn’t irritate any parts of my penis, there was no pain or discomfort when I masturbated. Will masturbation hinder the healing process? Should I wait until the infection goes away?
It seems odd to treat a yeast infection with antibiotics. Surely an anti-fungal cream would be preferred?
I have been taking 3 packs daily of immunocal for approx. 6 weeks and have developed a bad yeast infection. I am taking this to strengthen my glutathione. Does this cause yeast infections?
Registered Nurse here; No Immunocal does not cause yeast infections. Monistat is excellent for treating yeast infections, as well as eating yogurt with live bacteria, and drinking buttermilk, for buttermilk also contains live good cultures of bacteria. Both of the food items help to restore normal flora to the vagina and this assists to rid the yeast from your body.\
Thank you allowing me to address this well written and thought out question.
my doctor told me I have a yeast infection. How do people get yeast infections? Is it cleared up easily?
You have natural yeast and bacteria in the vaginal area. Some times you can irritate that area by useing certain soaps or even wearing certain underwear. A lot of women are very succeptable to yeast infections and its really normal to get at least one. Very common. Men can also pass on yeast infections although they dont have any symptoms because their genitals are not moist like ours.
